This is a tough contest for us to beat them. We are getting closer every time! This group of operators came from all over the country to operate together. They started their trip to K3LR on Thursday or Friday last week in Oregon, Idaho, Florida, New York, Oklahoma, Indiana or New Jersey. Wow! This was an outstanding contest for the K3LR team as we overcame many obstacles and kept focused on having a great time and working lots of DX! This team was a mix of contest experience and youth. Everyone kept their butts in the chairs and enjoyed every minute of the contest. Phil, K3UA anchored the 80 meter position and turned in a new K3LR record QSO total for 80. Way to go Phil! Phil has cut back on his contest coffee drinking. So this time, less than 5 cups for K3UA. John, N2NC and Chris, KL9A found conditions on 40 meters were better the second night. They really worked hard on a good multiplier total and it paid off! Pat, N9RV and Ward, N0AX kept a transmitter going on 20 meters for all 48 hours. Talk about contest talent, these guys are very good! Bill, W2RQ and Fred, K9VV worked very hard with a difficult 15 meter band. With the sunspots on their way down, they still found good rate hours. George, N3GJ and Daniel, W2AU had moments of greatness when 10 meters opened today to Europe well enough to work many multipliers. Special thanks to Dave, W9ZRX who rebuilt all of the K3LR station computers last month. His expertise and advice are very valuable to our team! We are looking forward to the ARRL DX SSB contest in two weeks! See you then! For the K3LR multi multi contest men >> Very 73!
